[Vacancy] Teaching Fellow in Translation Studies – Newcastle University

The School of Modern Languages wishes to appoint a fixed-term Teaching Fellow in Translation Studies to replace Dr Francis Jones during his AHRC-funded project on poetry and translation. This is a 0.8FTE post for a duration of 10 months (1 September 2017 to 30 June 2018). The successful candidate will be expected to offer MA-level teaching in the areas of translation studies, literary translation, translation and/or interpreting as a profession, and research methods.
You must hold a good first degree in a subject area relevant to the post, and a PhD in a relevant subject area (where the PhD is still in progress, it must be due to be submitted by September 2017). You should also have experience of university-level teaching and assessment in Translation Studies. You must have native or near-native fluency in English. Advanced knowledge of one of the languages taught on postgraduate Translation Studies courses (French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese) is desirable. You must have the qualities required to provide excellent teaching at postgraduate level.
