The China Research Centre for Humanities and Social Science Assessment is funded by the Social Science Department of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Based in Chang’an University, Xi’an, the Centre is dedicated to supporting cross-institutional, multi-disciplinary and comprehensive research. The selection and nomination of scholars is mainly based on research output and performance indicators provided by the ‘China Knowledge Integrated Database’, the largest academic resource system in China. Run by China National Knowledge Infrastructure (known as CNKI), the China Knowledge Integrated Database includes various types of research output such as journal articles, dissertations, theses, proceedings, monographs, patents and newspapers. Distinguished scholars in China who are included on that list are recognised for their outstanding and life-long achievements in their field of research.
