The Third WITTA Congress

​Translation in Education and Education in Translation

We are happy to announce that the Third WITTA (World Interpreter and Translator Training Association) Congress will be held at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore on October 2-5, 2020. The working languages for the Congress are English and Chinese.

Open to all, the Congress is intended to create a common space for reflection on issues related to translation and interpreting education.

We invite papers related but not limited to the following areas:

  • T&I development in relation to bilingual development
  • T&I competence in relation to bilingual competence
  • Translation education and bilingual policies
  • Methods, approaches, and innovations in T&I and bilingual teaching
  • Curriculum development of T&I degree and training programmes

  • Quality assessment of translation and bilingual education
  • Technologies in T&I and bilingual education
  • Continuing education in T&I and institutional support
  • Simultaneous machine interpreting

Participation Options

  1. to participate in the conference or the workshops by submitting the abstract of a paper and presenting it either orally or by poster (Full paper will be invited for submission for formal publication after the conference);
  2. to attend the conference or workshops with no paper presentation but with an interest in participating in discussions.

Abstract Submission

Create an account and log in to EasyChair via https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=witta2020 and submit your abstract in either English (150-250 words) or Chinese/Malay/Tamil (200-300 words)​.

If you intend to attend the conference without submission of an abstract (Participation Option 2), please also register via EasyChair, stating your preference for attending the conference without an abstract.
