Part Time: 5.48 hours per week (15% FTE)
Salary: The appointment will be on UCL Grade 8. The salary range will be £44,737 – £52,764 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
The post holder will be required to convene and deliver a specialist module on Audio Description for People with Limited Access to Visual Information. The module is scheduled to run in term 1 each year (September-December) and encompasses 2 hours of teaching per week over 10 weeks. Assessment takes place at the end of the module and marking is carried out in January.
The lecturer will also carry out second marking for one other module. The lecturer will also have the option of supervising translation dissertation projects in their specialist subject area (subject to student interest), or contributing to our Continuing Professional Development programme. The successful candidate will be expected to take up the position on 20 September 2021.
The post holder will have a PhD in translation studies or accessibility or significant professional experience in the relevant sector of the audio description. They will speak English as mother-tongue language and will have expert knowledge in audio description, as per the job description.
