We wish to appoint a permanent Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (Teaching & Research) in Chinese Translation Studies, to further develop our MA in Chinese-English Translation and Interpreting, and to enhance our successful and innovative Chinese Studies programme at undergraduate level.
You will have a PhD in Chinese Translation Studies or a relevant related discipline, and an emerging or established track-record of producing research and publications of international excellence. Preference will be given to candidates whose research interests relate closely to at least one of the university/faculty strategic research themes: Cities, Security and Conflict; Slavery and Unfree Labour; Heritage; Children and Childhood; Digital Humanities and Social Sciences; Medical Humanities and Social Sciences.
In your application we specifically invite you to set out your research plans and priorities over the next five years including an indication of how you intend to engage with the research areas and themes set out above and your plans for developing bids for external funding and for attracting postgraduate research students to Liverpool. You should also comment on your participation, along with other members of the Department, in academic-related activities based on your research interests within the framework of the University’s Strategic Plan.
These activities should include the development of research impact and may include programmes for knowledge transfer, outreach, or continuing professional development or other schemes for generating and maintaining links to cultural and community partners outside the University.
