The Department of English and Creative Writing (ECW) at Goldsmiths offers specialist teaching and research in English, American, Caribbean, European, and World literatures, comparative literature, linguistics, creative writing, and translation. At all levels, teaching is research- and/or practice-led, combining the analytical and the creative to offer a distinctive range of core and option modules available to students across the department.
Working closely with the MA in Translation Programme Coordinator, and drawing on your research knowledge, teaching experience, and translation professional practice, you will make a significant contribution to all aspects of teaching, learning, and assessment on the MA in Translation, including supervising MA in Translation dissertations, developing and managing relationships with external providers and work experience placements, and implementing the programme’s linked admissions and marketing strategy.
You will be an enthusiastic and conscientious professional with excellent organisational, interpersonal, and project and time management skills. You will be committed to providing an excellent student experience, and to taking a continuous improvement and problem-solving approach to all aspects of your work. You will be used to working proactively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, for the benefit of students. You will be practised at taking a proactive approach to troubleshooting any risks to the fulfilment of key elements of the student experience. In your professional practice as a translator, you will be committed to meeting the needs of clients within your translation specialism.
