Ca’ Foscari is looking for a Full Professor of “Language and Translation: English Language” with a cutting-edge research profile. The researcher should also have a strong commitment to teaching new generations of students so that they can become game-changers in their own fields and make a difference in the world.
Teaching duties and research:
the Professor will be required to teach courses within the L/LIN 12 academic discipline ( “Language and Translation: English Language”), at undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as PhD courses, in accordance with the needs of the Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies. The Professor will teach courses for a minimum of 120 teaching hours and will coordinate and supervise the activities of Foreign Language Assistants, according to the current regulations.
The candidate will have to contribute to the consolidation and development of research in the areas of the academic discipline L-LIN/12, with particular reference to synchronic and diachronic aspects of English language from a stylistic and multimodal perspective, discourse analysis and specialised languages. The candidate must also commit to publishing and promoting research projects at national and international level consistent with the Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies’s Project of Excellence 2023-27, particularly in the field of research on the linguistic adaptation of discourse genres with respect to new multimodal practices and transformations of socio-political and cultural contexts.
The Department actively pursues internationalization, activating joint programmes, Erasmus exchange periods, internships abroad, encouraging publication in international journals and inviting many Visiting Scholars and Professors.
